Description
Cheesy ground beef tater tot casserole is the perfect comfort food—crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. A Midwest classic made for modern families.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
4. Transfer beef mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread evenly.
5. Layer frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tots generously.
7. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and tots are golden.
8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can mix in frozen peas or corn for added vegetables.
Swap cream of mushroom for cream of chicken or cheddar cheese soup.
Leftovers reheat well in the microwave or oven.
